What Are Dental Implants?
A dental implant is a man-made tooth root. Dental Implants are the closest you can get to healthy, natural teeth. They are made from biologically safe titanium and are designed in various shapes and sizes to fit you needs. The replacement tooth or teeth are joined to the implant providing the comfort, appearance and chewing ability. Dental Implants allow you to enjoy life and live confidently.
Benefits of Dental Implants
- Eat whatever you want without painful chewing
- Laugh and talk without any hang-ups
- Smile with confidence
- Enjoy your life
- Protect facial bone and healthy teeth
- Improved oral health
- Convenience. Dental Implants eliminate the inconvenience of removing dentures
- Implants are durable and will last many years
What Is The Dental Implant Process?
A thorough examination and consultation is given to all new patients. Our 3D Cone beam technology allows for precise planning and placement of implants. During the process, Dr. Roman discusses your treatment objectives. On the basis of your needs and clinical findings of your mouth, we develop a plan of treatment to meet your needs.
The procedure is done in our office. Normally a small opening is made in the gum, and the implant is placed into a narrow hole or slot. The dental implant bonds with your jawbone (A). They become a sturdy base for supporting crowns.
A connector (B) is placed on top of the implant to hold and support your crown. The crowns are custom made and provide a custom match and fit (C).
Following a short period to allow the bone to bond with the dental implant, Dr. Roman places the implant restoration, or replacement tooth, which fits on top of the implant. Depending on which teeth are missing and your personal dental needs, your implant restoration might be a single crown, a dental bridge, or a complete or partial denture. Each dental implant restoration is custom-made to fit your smile comfortably and esthetically.
Dr. Roman answers questions about Dental Implants
At no time in the implant or tooth placement phases of your treatment, will you be without teeth. If you have dentures or partials, they can be worn over the implants while they mature.
Temporary teeth will be made prior to removal of existing teeth in cases where tooth removal and implant placement is required.
